Cathalina Hun Bogert

by

Cathalina Hun was born in December 1749. She was the daughter of North End mainstays Harmen and Elsie Lansing Hun. Her father prospered in leather-related activities.

In December 1773, she married Albany native "Isaac Bogert "Jr." at the Albany Dutch church. By the end of 1784, three children had been christened in Albany.

This Bogert family made their home in the first ward. The first city directory in 1813 identified their residence as at 77 Court Street.

In April 1793, she was identified as the wife of Isaac Bogert and named as one of three living daughters and also as co-executor in the will filed by her father. That will passed probate in May 1800.

Cathalina lost her husband when Isaac Bogert died in 1818. Afterwards, "Widow Catalina Bogart" was listed in the city directory as a resident of 366 South Market Street. She died in November 1824 just before her seventy-fifth birthday.
