The Verberg

Spelled and referenced variously, The term "Verberg" (Verburgh, etc.) referenced a location west of the settled part of Albany near or on the King's Highway that was well known during the 1760s. It appears to have been located near the upper reaches of Patroon's Creek. It was located on the map of Rensselaerswyck made by John R. Bleecker and dated 1767.
