Elizabeth Glen Van Ingen

Elizabeth Glen was born in August 1763. She was the first child of the marriage of Henry and Elizabeth Visscher Glen. She grew up in a prominent businessman's homes in both Schenectady (where she was christened) and Albany as a member of a large and prominent family.

By 1784, she had become the wife of Schenectady-born William Van Ingen - her father's one-time clerk. Their son was born in that year and named for Elizabeth's father. She was a member and pewholder at the Albany Dutch church.

These Van Ingens made their home in Albany's first ward where Van Ingen was a prominent businessman.

She was named as wife and heir in the will filed by her husband in December 1799. He died the month following. Elizabeth Glen Van Ingen probably passed sometime thereafter.
