Johanna Yates Flensburgh
Johanna Yates * probably was born about 1690. At this point, we are uncertain of her parentage.
Perhaps, she was born in New York where she married Daniel Flensburgh in July 1717. Shortly thereafter, they settled in Albany where their four children were christened at the Albany Dutch church between 1718 and 1724. Until 1730, she was a regular baptism sponsor.
This Flensburgh family lived in Albany's first ward where Daniel plied the shoemaker's trade.
She was named in the will filed by her husband in August 1725. Flensburgh died later in the month. We seek information on the remainder of Johanna Yates Flensburgh's life. Perhaps she was the same "Hanna Flensburgh" buried in the Albany churchyard in July 1739.
Sources: The life of Johanna Yates Flensburgh is CAP biography number 8057. This sketch is derived chiefly from family and community-based resources.
