Celia Yates Radcliffby
Celia Yates was born in May 1693. She was the daughter in the large Albany family of Joseph and Huybertie Marselis Yates. In March 1717, she married Johannes Radcliff, the son of one of her father's associates, at the Albany Dutch church. By 1722, seven children had been christened at the Albany church where she was an occasional baptism sponsor. This Radcliff family made their home near their parents and other English ancestry tradesmen in the first ward at the foot of Gallows Hill. Celia Yates Radcliff died in January 1741 and was buried from the Dutch church. Her husband survived until 1757.
