by

The Albany Wyngaert family is descended from Luycas Gerritse who settled in Albany during the third decade of the seventeenth century.

In 1697, son and trader Gerrit L. Wyngaert was raising a family on upper State Street. The households of four Wyngaert family members were configured on that census.

1720, the name of Luycas Gerritse and two of his sons appeared on an Albany freeholders list.

In 1790, two Wyngaert-named households appeared on the Albany census.
