Rebecca Winne Van Zandt

by

Rebecca Winne was born in September 1738. She was a middle daughter in the large family of Benjamin and Rachel Van Arnhem Winne. She grew up on her family's West Manor farm.

In October 1759, she married Gysbert Van Zandt at the Albany Dutch church. By 1780, eight children had been christened in Albany where she was an occasional baptism sponsor.

These Van Zandts raised their family outside of Albany in what became Watervliet and later Bethlehem. Her husband was a carpenter. She was alive and accounted for under his name on the Watervliet census in 1790.

Rebecca probably was not alive when Gysbert Van Zandt died in 1824 while he was living in the Albany home of his widowed daughter. We seek further in formation on Rebecca's later life and passing.
