Anna Winne Van Vranken

by

Anna Winne was born in October 1688. She was the daughter of Albany area residents Adam and Anna Loockermans Winne. Two sisters married Albany residents while two others married men from the region.

About 1710, Anna married Albany resident Maas Ryckse Van Vranken. Between 1711 and 1726, five of their children were christened at the Albany Dutch church.

This Van Vranken family lived in Albany's third ward and along the Mohawk River at Niskayuna. By the 1720s, they were living in Niskayuna but still receiving services from the Albany church.

Traditional sources tell us that Anna Winne Van Vranken may have died in March 1778. Her husband was last heard from in 1726.
