Sara Vandenbergh was born in May 1705. She was a younger daughter in the large family of Cornelis and Susanna Ouderkerk Vandenbergh. Her father is said to have died in Halfmoon in 1728 but we seek more information on her parentage and childhood .

In August 1724, she married Gerrit C. Van Ness at the Albany Dutch church. By 1744, eight children had been christened in the church.

Sara raised her family in a carpenter's home in the third ward.

The daughters of Sara Vandenbergh Van Ness were mentioned in the will of her sister filed in August 1773. We seek defining information on Sara's passing.
