Maria Van Deusen Staats

by

Maria Van Deusen probably was born in August 1700. She was the daughter of Willem Jacobse and Elizabeth Roseboom Van Deusen. She grew up in a middling family in Albany's second ward.

In June 1728, she married a slightly younger Isaac Staats at the Albany Dutch church. By 1741, six children had been christened in Albany where she was a member and pewholder.

This Staats family lived in the first ward where Isaac practiced the cooper's trade.

Isaac Staats lived into the 1770s. The life span of Maria Van Deusen Staats at present is not known. Several of her children became Albany residents.
