Engeltie Van Deusen Van Vechten

by

Engeltie Van Deusen was born in May 1687. She was the daughter of Melgert and Engeltie Van Woert Van Deusen. She grew up on her father's farm located on the fringes of Albany.

In June 1714, she married Philip Van Vechten at the Albany Dutch church. No children were christened there although she was a regular baptism sponsor for more than a decade following her marriage.

This Van Vechten family lived in Albany's third ward where Philip was a community mainstay during the second and third decades of the century.

The wife of Philip Van Venchten was buried in March 1734. Engeltie Van Deusen Van Vechten had lived less than forty-seven years.
