Jannetie Van Alstyne Pruyn

by

Jannetie Van Alstyne was born in August 1719. She was a younger daughter from the marriage of Martin Van Alstyne and Cornelia Vandenbergh Van Alstyne (married in November 1705). Jannetje grew up a member of a large Rensselaerswyck family.

By 1749, she had married Albany native Johannes S. Pruyn. By 1764, the marriage had produced seven children who were christened at the Albany Dutch church where she was a member and pewholder.

These Pruyns raised their family in a shoemaker's home in the third ward.

Johannes S. Pruyn may have lived into the 1780s. We seek information on the later life and passing of Jannetie Van Alstyne Pruyn
