by
Stefan Bielinski

John Vernor was an innkeeper in Albany during the middle of the eighteenth century. He was married to Martha and was the father of several children who further established the family in Albany and the greater upriver region.

His son, John, was born in 1746. John Vernor was dead by 1766 when his wife, "Widow Vernor," was running the tavern with the help of their sons!
