Eleanor Visscher Denniston

Eleanor Visscher was born in September 1773. "Neeltie" was the daughter of Johannes and Elizabeth Bradt Visscher. She grew up as part of a large family in a businessman's home in the second ward.

In June 1787, she married Isaac Denniston at the Albany Presbyterian Church. By the mid-1800s, a number of children had been christened at the Albany Dutch church where she was a pewholder.

These Dennistons lived in the first ward where Isaac operated the family tavern and was involved in a number of business initiatives. By 1818, her family was living in the substantial "Mansion House" on Lydius Street.

Eleanor Visscher Denniston lived at least into the 1820s. Her husband may have survived until 1853.
