Abigail Utenbogart Verplanck

by

Spelled and referred to variously, Abigail Utenbogart was the wife of Albany resident Isaac Verplanck.

She probably was born in New Amsterdam during the 1650s.

They seem to have married during the late 1670s and were Albany mainstays by 1679. By 1700, the marriage had produced ten children who mostly were christened at the Albany Dutch church where the parents were members and regular baptism sponsors.

In 1697, their Albany household was composed of Abigail, two men, and six living children.

With outstanding questions on the life of Albany wife Abigail Utenbogart Verplanck we move on for now.
