Paris Tillinghurst

by

Offered verbatim, the name " Paris I. Tillinghurst" appeared on the census for the city of Albany in 1790. His household was enumerated in the first ward and appears to have been on lower State Street or was located nearby. At that time, one adult male, three boys under 16, and three unspecified females resided in that dwelling. That is the sole reference to this one-time Albany resident encountered so far in the community-based record. We seek information on his origins and path to Albany.

This individual probably was one of a number of New Englanders mostly referred to as "Paris Jencks Tillinghast" over a number of generations and chiefly but not entirely in Rhode Island.

Most of this individual's life seems to have fallen beyond our defined parameters. With core identity issues and important unanswered questions on the life of short-term Albany resident "Paris J. Tillinghast," we move on for now.
