Johannes Schuyler

Johannes Schuyler (or John H. Schuyler) was born in July 1763, He was the fourth son of Harmanus and Christina Ten Broeck Schuyler. His father was once the Albany sheriff but relocated to Stillwater about 1770.

1773, he was left two lots in Albany in the will of Stephen Richard.

In June 1786, he married Hendrickie Fort. In June 1800, he married Annetie Fort. By 1815, fourteen children had been born in the two marriages.

This Schuyler family lived in what became Saratoga County as the children were christened in Stillwater and at Schaghticoke. After 1810, John H. Schuyler settled permanently on bounty lands in what became Tompkins County that had been received from his brother.

Johannes Schuyler died in August 1846 in Ithaca, New York. He was eighty-three years old.
