Margarita Roseboom was born in 1712. She was the daughter of Albany residents Hendrick and Deborah Staats Roseboom.

This gunsmith's daughter married Albany native Robert Lansing in December 1734. Her husband followed his father-in-law to become a prominent gunsmith and keeper of the first city fire engine! The couple set up their home on Court Street. By 1746, their four children had been baptized in the Albany Dutch church.

Margarita Roseboom Lansing died in September 1746 and was buried in the Dutch church cemetery. She was a month shy of her thirty-fourth birthday. Robert Lansing re-married two more times and lived until 1795!
