Gerrit Johannes Lansing

Gerrit Lansing was born in September 1705. He was the first child born to the marriage of Albany natives Johannes G. and Helena Sanders Lansing. To prevent confusion, he was known as "Gerrit Johannes Lansing."

He grew up in a businessman's home in the first ward.

In May 1740, he married Elsie A. Lansing at the Albany Dutch church. By 1749, three children had been christened in the Albany church.

In 1749, he was appointed firemaster in the second ward.  biography in-progress

Gerrit Johannes Lansing was buried from his church in August 1757. He was a month shy of his fifty-second birthday.
