Elizabeth Geyer Hewsonby
Elizabeth Geyer was christened at the Albany Lutheran church in April 1765. She was the daughter of John G. and Susanna Geyer (Geier). She grew up in a home on Albany's Southside. In June 1789, she married Albany native Robert Hewson at St. Peter's Episcopal church. Their daughter was christened at St. Peter's on January 1. In 1787, she was identified as a "member in Communion" at the First Lutheran church. Hopefully coincidentally, "another" Elizabeth Geyer married Daniel J. Hewson about that time. These Hewsons lived in the first ward where their budding family was configured on the census in 1790. That residence was located near the home of "John Geyer," probably Elizabeth's father or brother. Elizabeth Geyer Hewson was probably dead by August 1795 when the burial of "Robert Hewson and Wife" was charged from the Albany Dutch church. Letters of Administration had been granted on his estate in January. notes
