Elizabeth Gansevoort De Wandelaer

by

Elizabeth Gansevoort was born about 1680. She was the daughter of New Netherland pioneers Harme and Maria Conyn Gansevoort. She grew up in a brewer's home located along the Albany waterfront.

In April 1701, she married Johannes De Wandelaer, Jr. at the Albany Dutch church. By 1722, her ten children had been christened in the Albany church where she was a member.

This large De Wandelaer family lived on Market Street where Johannes was a successful businessman. By 1720, they had relocated to Schaghticoke but maintained the Albany residence for the remainder of their lives.

Elizabeth Gansevoort De Wandelaer probably died after 1730.
