by
Stefan Bielinski

Willempie Egbertse was born about 1662. She was the daughter of Albany residents Teunis Teunise and his wife Egbertje Egberts. Sometimes her family was called "Teunissen" or "Metselaer." In December 1685, she was identified as twenty-three-years-old and an heir in the will of her then deceased parents.

On December 9, 1685, she marrried Anthony Barentse Bradt. By 1708, their eleven children had been baptized at the Albany Dutch church where she was a member.

In 1725, Lutheran church records referred to her slave "Betty."

Wilempie Egberts Bradt was buried in October 1745.
