Susanna Egberts Van Vranken

by

Susanna Egberts was born in April 1718. She was the daughter of Barent Egberts and his first wife, Maria De Garmo Egberts. Her mother died in 1725 after giving birth to six children. Her father re-married and lived until 1752.

Her husband was Gerrit Van Vranken. Between 1746 and 1758, her five daughters were christened at the Albany Dutch church where she was a pewholder.

This Van Vranken family lived in Albany's third ward where Gerrit earned his living as a carpenter.

The Albany census of 1790 showed an adult couple living alone in Gerrit Vranken's third ward home located next to that of her daughter and son-in-law.

Susanna Egberts Van Vranken was dead by 1799 when her church pew was "given up" as she was "deceased."
