Eva De Meyer Hansen

According to traditional sources, Eva De Meyer was born in April 1643. She was the daughter ofJellis Pieters De Meyer.

She married Albany founding father Hans Hendrickse. Their offspring established the Hansen family peremanently in Albany and elsewhere. Their son was appointed mayor of Albany in 1698.

These Hansens lived on Market Street where they raised a large family. Hans Hendrickse died in 1694 and Eva took over their family enterprises until her children reached adulthood. In 1697, "Effie Hanse" was identified as the head of her Albany household.

Eva De Meyer Hansen died in New York City on July 27, 1704 at the house of her brother.
