Neeltie Christians Vedder

by

Neeltie Christians (Cornelia) was born in November 1685 and baptized in the Albany Dutch church. She was the daughter of New Netherland pioneers Christian and his second wife, Maritje Ysbrant Elders Christiaense. She grew up with a number of prominent siblings in the home of a Schenectady freeholder who is said to have died in New Jersey in 1696. We seek definitive information on Neeltie's formative years.

In March 1711, she married Halfmoon widower Corset Vedder at the Albany church. At that time, she was living at Canistagione. By 1720, three of her children had been christened in Albany.

These Vedders made their home at the Half Moon and then in Schaghticoke.

Corset Vedder was dead by 1748. We seek information on the passing of Neeltie Christians Vedder.
