Jannetje Bradt Van Schaick

Jannetje Bradt was born in September 1729. She was the daughter of Egbert and Elizabeth Lansing Bradt. she grew up in a carpenter's home in Albany's first ward.

In March 1753, she married newcomer Stephanus Van Schaick at the Albany Dutch church. By 1770, five children had been christened in the church where she was a member and pewholder.

Her new husband soon became involved in her father's trade of carpentry. These Van Schaicks lived among other tradesmen in Albany's first ward during a marriage that lasted through five decades.

Stephanus Van Schaick died in 1802. Jannetje Bradt Van Schaick was accounted for under her husband's census entry in 1800.
