by
Stefan Bielinski

Jannetje Bleecker was born in October 1763. She was the first child born to the marriage of John J. Bleecker and Gerritje/Janneke Van Schaick Bleecker.

She was almost twenty-six in March 1788 when she married Schenectady native Isaac I. Truax at the Albany Dutch church. By 1798, the marriage had produced five children who were christened in Albany.

This Truax family lived on North Market Street in Albany's third ward where Isaac was a merchant.

Jannetje Bleecker Truax died in March 1811 at the age of forty-seven. Her husband lived one year longer!
