by

Gerardus Bancker was born in April 1706. He was a son in the large family of Albany leaders Evert and Elizabeth Abeel Bancker. Gerardus grew up in a prominent businessman's homes in Albany and Manhattan.

In October 1731, he married his first cousin, Maria De Peyster, in New York. By 1738, the marriage had produced four children who were christened in the Albany Dutch church. In 1741, he joined the Reformed church in New Brunswick, New Jersey.

In 1731, he was commissioned a lieutenant in an Albany militia company. In 1734, he was named co-executor and to receive a share of his father's estate.

Gerardus Bancker was dead by 1745 and may have been buried in New Brunswick.
