Major Early Albany Family Names
now being studied by the Colonial Albany Social History Project
*
Note:
Members of these families lived in the city of Albany for more than two
generations before 1800.
These New Netherland family groups were in Beverwyck/Rensselaerswyck by September 1664.
Many, many name variants are readily encountered!
Spellings of family names have been standardized here for consistency.
Some of those without a family page are linked to the earliest available family member in Albany.
Some of these families have undergone a CASHP Family
Reconstitution.
