Jacobus Winne

Jacobus Winne probably was born about 1676. He may have been the sixth son born to New Netherland pioneers Pieter and Jannetje Adams Winne. He grew up in a large family on his father's farm in Bethlehem and at the Winne townhouse in Albany. Young Jacobus was named an heir in his father's will - filed in 1684. However, within a decade, Pieter Winne was dead and Jacobus's mother had re-married!

In October 1698, he married Maritje Bronck at the Albany Dutch church. By 1706, three children had been christened in Albany.

In June 1697, Jacobus Winne's household was configured on the Albany census. Shortly thereafter, he re-located to Kinderhook where he died in September 1706.
