Geertruy Witbeck Van Antwerpen

by

Geertruy (Gerritje) Witbeck was born in October 1739. She was the last child born to the marriage of Andries and Engeltie Slingerland Witbeck. Perhaps she grew up on the family farm located outside of Kinderhook.

In October 1772, she married widower Daniel Van Antwerpen in the Albany Dutch church. At that time, she was thirty-four and was identified as a spinster. Their child was christened in Albany in February 1774.

She moved in with Van Antwerpen's family in his modest third ward home. In 1790 their Albany household included five people.

We seek information on the later life and passing of Geertruy Witbeck Van Antwerpen. Perhaps these Van Antwerpens were living in Coeymans in 1794.
