Abigail Winne Jones

by

Abigail Winne was baptized on December 1, 1728. She was the daughter of Jan and Rachel Verplanck Winne. However, her father may have died in 1733 which would have left widow Rachel to raise a small family in their second ward home.

In October 1748, Abigail married Peter Jones at the Albany Dutch church. By 1768, she had given birth to six sons with at least four of them dying during their childhood.

This Jones family lived modestly in a first ward home. Peter Jones was a cooper and an Albany mainstay into the late 1760s. Abigail was alive thru the christening of her last child in October 1768. After that, neither partner has been encountered in the community-based resources encountered.
