Maria Van Tricht Vinhagen
by
Stefan Bielinski

Maria Van Tricht was born during the early 1680s. She was the daughter of Abraham and Elizabeth Teller Van Tricht. Her father died and her mother re-married in 1692.

In March 1706, Maria married Johannes Vinhagen. By 1722, seven of her children were baptized in the Albany Dutch church.

These Vinhagens lived in the second ward where Johannes served in a number of civic capacities.

Maria was left a "legacy" in the will of her mother filed in 1720. Her name dropped from Albany rolls following the baptism of her last child in 1722.
