Jacomyntie Van Schoonhoven Van Deusen

by

Jacomyntie Van Schoonhoven was born during the second half of the seventeenth century. She was the daughter of Albany residents Geurt Hendrickse and Maria Cornelis Van Schoonhoven.

In May 1697, she married Albany native Abraham Van Deusen at the Albany Dutch church where she was a longtime member. By 1707, the marriage had produced five children who were christened in Albany and Kingston.

Like many members of both their families, this young Albany couple probably lived outside the stockade as well as they made but a faint impression on the community record.

Jacomyntie Van Schoonhoven Van Deusen was last heard from in 1707 in association with the birth of her last child.
