Barent Van Schaick

Barent Van Schaick was born near the beginning of 1668. He was the last child born to the marriage of New Netherland pioneers and Albany founder Goosen Gerritse and his second wife Anna Lievens Van Schaick.

He was among the children named in the joint will filed by his parents in August 1668. That document gave his age as one-and-a-half. His father died before the boy reached his tenth birthday. He was not named among her children in the will filed by his mother in 1702.

His name has not yet been found in the available annals of the Albany Dutch chuch.
