Rynier J. Van Iveren

by

Rynier J. Van Iveren was born in October 1744. He was the son of Jacob and Wyntie Vandenbergh Van Iveren. With a number of same-named contemporaries, He was referred to as "Rynier J." or "Rynier Van Iveren, Jr." At least one more prominent Rynier also lived in the third ward.

A number of marriage senarios are available for Rynier Van Iveren. However, his wife may have been Elizabeth Ostrander whose church pew was transferred to Rynier J's. daughter Maria by 1791.

In March and October 1779, a Rynier Jr. was listed on the Albany assessment roll in the third ward.

In 1781, Rynier Jr. was appointed chimney viewer for the third ward.

In 1790, his third ward household may have included only three people.

At this point, we well may have confused Rynier J. Van Iveren with his more prominent contemporary. Thus, we must move on without completing this sketch.
