Volkie Vandenbergh Van Schoonhoven

Volkie Vandenbergh was born in 1726. She was the daughter of Albany residents Gysbert and Catalina Vandenburgh.

She married Albany skipper and sometime carpenter Dirck Bradt Van Schoonhoven in 1747. Over the next twenty years, their ten children were baptized in the Albany Dutch Church where she was a long-time member.

These Van Schoonhovens set up their home along the river road near Albany's northern border. In 1790, their Watervliet houshold had seven members.

Volkie Vandenbergh Van Schoonhoven was still alive in 1796. Her husband died in 1795.
