Geesje Vanderheyden Kip

by

Geesje Vanderheyden was born during the mid-1660s. She was the daughter of pioneer settlers Jacob Tysse and Anna Hals Vanderheyden.

In October 1687, she married Abraham Kip at the Albany Dutch church. By 1705, eight children had been christened at the Albany church where she was a member and frequent baptism sponsor.

These Kips set up their Albany home in the second ward on Pearl Street - the street of residence of many recently established and prominent early Albany families.

Geesje Vanderheyden Kip lost her husband in June 1731. She died in February 1748 and was buried in Albany.
