Elizabeth Van Deusen Dunbar

Elizabeth Van Deusen was born in January 1749. She was the daughter of Albany residents Arent and Catharina Waldron Van Deusen. She grew up in a small family in a modest home on the Southside of Albany. Her mother passed on in 1760.

In June 1770, Elizabeth married Albany native William Dunbar at the Albany Dutch church. By 1785, the marriage had produced five children.

This Dunbar family lived in the heart of the third ward in a modest home on what became Van Tromp Street. City directories listed their home at 6 Van Tromp and William's occupation as paver.

Elizabeth Van Deusen Dunbar died in June 1822 and was buried in the Dutch church plot. She had lived seventy-four years. Her husband survived until 1825.
