Catharina Vanderwerken Bogardus

by

Catharina Elizabeth Vanderwerken was born about 1730. Several possibilities exist for parents living in the Albany area.

In November 1750, she married thirty-year-old Albany resident Shibboleth Bogardus, Jr. at the Albany Dutch church. By 1756, three children had been christened in the Albany church where she was a pewholder.

This Bogardus family lived in the third ward - near the Albany waterfront.

Catharina Elizabeth Vanderwerken Bogardus was not heard from after the birth of her last child in 1756. Her husband lived for at least three more decades.
