Magdalena Vrooman Van Ness

by

According to family-based resources, Magdalena Vrooman was born in September 1725. Thus, she would be the eldest daughter in the small family of Johannes and Maria Appel Vrooman. These Vroomans lived in Schenectady. Magdalena's father died in 1730.

In August 1759, she would have been thirty-four when she married forty-four-year-old widower Hendrick G. Van Ness at the Albany Dutch church. At that time, Magdalena was identified as a single woman. By 1767, the marriage had produced three children. They were christened in Albany.

This Hendrick Van Ness appears to have been an Albany city-based businessman and property holder.

To prevent confusion, we pause here regarding the lives of Hendrick G. and Magdalena Vrooman Van Ness
