Jannetje Swart Vanderzee
by
Stefan Bielinski

Jannetje Swart was born during the 1670s. She probably was the daughter of Schenectady settlers Teunis Cornelis and Elizabeth Swart. Teunis Cornelise died about 1686. Elizabeth re-married and moved to Albany.

Youngest daughter Jannetje married Wouter Vanderzee at the Albany Dutch church in July 1695. By 1719, nine children were baptized in Albany where she was a member and occasional baptism sponsor.

These Vanderzees lived in Albany's first ward and later may have re-located to Rensselaerswyck.

Jannetje Swart Vanderzee died after 1754.
