by

Maria Ryckman was born in August 1683. She was the daughter of Albert Janse and Neeltje Quackenbush Ryckman. She grew up in a large brewer's family along the Albany waterfront.

She was thirty-one-years old in December 1714 when she married Barent Bradt. By 1718, the marriage had produced two children.

These Bradts lived in the third ward where Barent was well-known as Albany's foremost bookkeeper.

Maria Ryckman Bradt was dead by 1730 when Barent Bradt re-married. Her children were provided for in her father's will filed in 1736.
