Hillegont Ryckse Van Vranken

by

Hillegont Ryckse* was the wife then widow of Albany and Niskayuna resident Ryckert Van Vranken. That marriage produced at least four sons and a daughter. Her husband filed a will in 1688.

She was a widow by November 1696 when her Albany house was referenced in a deed transaction involving Wouter Aertsen.

In 1697, she was identified as a widow and the head of an Albany household. She lived next to the household of her son, Maas Ryckse Van Vranken.

Her third ward property was valued on the city assessment rolls in 1702 and 1709.

Hillegont Ryckse Van Vranken was last noted on that assessment roll. As her children were marrying during the 1690s, she probably was born during the 1630s or 40s.
