Maria Ostrander Van Iverenby
Maria Ostrander was was born in January 1715. She was an older daughter in the large family of Kingston native Johannes Ostrander and Albany-born Elizabeth Vandenbergh Ostrander. She may have grown up in her father's home in Albany's third ward. In May 1740, she married Johannes Mynders Van Iveren at the Albany Dutch church. By 1756, eight children had been christened in Albany. These Van Iverens lived in the first ward where Johannes practiced the blacksmith's trade. Her husband filed a will in September 1761. It named Maria and three living children as his heirs. The will passed probate in January 1764.
