by

Judik Marselis was born about 1670. She was the daughter of Marselis Jans and Anna Gerrits Marselis. She was one of five children noted in the will filed by her father in June 1690.

In November 1692, she married widower Lucas Luycasse Hooghkerk at the Albany Dutch church. By 1712, eight children had been christened in the Albany church where she was a member.

The couple raised their large family in the first ward where Lucas Luycasse operated a brickyard.
