Hannah Maley Cuyler

by

According to traditional sources, Hannah Maley was born in New York in October 1769. She was the daughter of John and Catherine Tremper Maley.

Her parents settled in Albany and she was raised in a landmark home on Market Street near the Dutch church.

During the 1780s, she married Schenectady native John C. Cuyler. By 1810, the marriage had produced at least eight children.

After living for a time with her parents, these Cuylers moved into their own home in the third ward. For the next three decades, they were Market Street mainstays.

Perhaps Hannah Maley Cuyler moved to Schenectady with her husband where he died in 1828. We seek information on her passing!
