Elizabeth Marselis Bradt

by

Elizabeth Marselis was born in January 1692. She was the daughter of Albany residents Gysbert and Barbara Groesbeck Marselis. She grew up in a large family that lived in a house on Pearl Street.

In August 1730, she married widower Barent Bradt at the Albany Dutch church. Their only child was born the next year.

Her husband was the city treasurer and church sexton for many years. Their third ward home was an Albany landmark. Elizabeth Marselis Bradt may have lived into the second half of the eighteenth century. Her husband was still alive in 1765.
