Jeremiah Jewel

According to family-based resources, Jeremiah Jewel (also Jeremiah P. Jewell) was born in July 1783. He was the first child born to the marriage of Albany newcomers Joseph and Ann Daniels Jewell.

He is said to have married Margaret Thompson in February 1807.

In 1810, his household was configured on the Albany census. It accounted for four men, three girls, and three women on the premises.

Beginning in 1814, Jeremiah P. Jewell was listed in the city directory as a blacksmith at 41 Sand Street.

The newspaper noted that Margaret Thompson Jewell died in December 1840 at the age of forty-nine. Jeremiah P. Jewel died in Albany in August 1854. He had lived seventy-two years.
