Wyntie Bosch Bogardus

by

According to traditional sources, Wyntie Bosch was born in New Netherland about 1645. She was believed to have been the daughter of Cornelis Teunise and Maria Mingael Bosch. Her father is said to have died in Albany about 1665.

About that time, she married aspiring businessman Pieter Bogardus. By 1691, Wyntie had given birth to as many as nine children - some of whom were christened at the Albany Dutch church where she was a member.

This Bogardus family lived in Albany until about 1700 when they relocated to Kingston where Pieter Bogardus died in 1703.

Wyntie Bosch Bogardus may have died in Kingston in January 1712.
